Customer Interview: Improving Shared Safety Observations

November 23, 2018/by Barry Nelson

SmartTagIt is discovering new ways to improve the lives and safety of those closest to the work.

But to do that best, its important we understand the challenges our customers face with reducing accidents and injuries and driving safety engagement.

Our team recently interviewed multiple customers from a variety of industries and backgrounds to hear their insights on safety, and learn how SmartTagIt has influenced their workplace.

A Conversation with Kristen Painter

Kristen Painter isn’t afraid of change. As a Project Safety Manager with Cupertino Electric, she’s learned how important it is to be efficient and flexible with her time.

SmartTagIt Safety Sharing in Action

With so many critical tasks competing for her time as a Safety Professional, we asked Painter how she uses SmartTagIt to engage field teams and those closest to the work.

Kristen: “I call it ‘real time observations’…”

Painter quickly shares information she gathers to people following her projects and observations. When she finds something worth noting she can take a snapshot right then and there.

Kristen: “It’s extremely user friendly…I like the fact that I can just follow certain jobs or certain people…I don’t want to have to log on to an application and scroll through stuff that really isn’t a concern to me.”

When we spoke with Painter she had 6 crews working in different locations. Being able to get on-the-spot reports, no matter where she might be, is a valuable timesaver for her.

Kristen: “I make reports every day…one of the best things that I like about this is SmartTagIt pulls everything I’ve done for the day into a file.”

Once Painter gets a file, she can e-mail everything from the day out to her project team.

Kristen: “So, it’s literally at the click of a button.”

Painter says she would gladly advise people who might think SmartTagIt is too complicated to learn to just try it for themselves.

Kristen: “You don’t have to be a tech person to understand it. All you really need to know is how to operate a phone.”
